From an idea on a Thursday night to a scorecard on Sunday morning.
Or call out one specific player. Set the overs, the ball type, the ground and the time you want.
Interested players come to you. Nothing becomes a match until you approve your opponent — that's your call, always.
A private chat opens. Settle wides, no-balls, last-man-stands, whatever your ground plays. Both sides confirm before the first ball.
Check in at the ground, score ball by ball on your phone, and walk away with a result and a poster to send to the group.
Short-format cricket the way it actually gets played — two people, three, four, or whatever you can agree on. The examples below are just that: you set the overs, ball, target and wickets for every match.
One player against one player. Each may bat and bowl, or you fix the roles between you.
Example5 overs · tennis ball · target 75
Two on one side against one on the other — the classic when a mate drops out an hour before.
Example10 overs · two bowlers against one batter
Two a side, with batting and bowling shared however the four of you decide.
Example8 overs · both pairs bat and bowl
You define side size, batting and bowling roles, innings order and your own local rules.
Example12 overs · 3 bowlers vs 2 batters · 3 wickets
Overs, targets, wickets, ball type, ground and how you treat wides and no-balls all change from locality to locality. County King treats every one of them as something you negotiate, not something an app decides for you.
Most pick-up matches end in an argument about the score. This one ends in a scorecard both players agreed to, and a poster worth sending to the group.

You're arranging to meet someone you may not know, at a ground, to play a competitive match. Here is exactly what County King does about that.
County King Pro costs nothing for the first 10,000 members, for a full year. No card, no trial that quietly ends.

Beyond your free weekly credit, extra direct challenges use tokens. If the player you called out accepts, your free credit stays yours.
County King is opening city by city rather than everywhere at once, so the date depends on where you play. Join the waitlist with your number and your area and we’ll message you the moment it’s live near you — the first 10,000 members get County King Pro free for a year.
No. County King is built for one player against one player, and for small sides — 2 vs 1, 2 vs 2, or a custom format you define. If two of you can get to a ground, you can play a match that counts.
County King opens city by city, so some areas will go live before others. Once it opens near you, a free account searches up to 99 km and Pro extends that to 500 km, so quiet areas still reach the nearest players. Joining the waitlist early also means the players who come next find you first — and it tells us which areas to open next.
Yes. Posting open challenges, discovery, the full Match Centre, scoring, your profile and result posters are all free. County King Pro is free for the first 10,000 members for one year, and adds a wider radius, a movable base location and full player dashboards.
Both players check in at the ground by GPS before play, so attendance is recorded against the match rather than argued about afterwards. Both sides rate each other once it's done, and those ratings stay attached to the account.
Whoever holds the scorecard for that match — usually the side that isn't batting. It's one or two taps a ball, any action can be undone, and control can be handed to another player mid-match when it's your turn to bat.
That's the point. Overs, target, wickets, ball type, ground and how you treat wides and no-balls are all set per match. A private chat opens once a challenge is accepted, and the rules stay negotiable until both sides confirm them before the first ball.
No. The number you leave on the waitlist is used for one thing — telling you when County King opens where you play. Once you are playing, your number verifies your account but is never shown on your profile: other players see an approximate distance and a location label rather than your address or live position, and you talk through the in-app chat that opens after a challenge is accepted.
Raise a dispute against the match. The ball-by-ball record, check-ins and any evidence attached go to an administrator, who reviews it against the match record rather than taking one side's word.
Cricket, in short and flexible formats, is where County King starts. The platform is built to extend to other sports over time, but everything available today is cricket.
Challenge. Play. Conquer.
Leave your number and we'll tell you the moment it opens where you play.
